How to Generate Lots of Different Reports

MSD Organizer is a full-featured organizer software that, among its many features, can generate an almost unlimited number of different reports.

This is possible because this PIM software lets you print the exact contents of the data grids, and these grids can be configured in many different ways.

These are some characteristics of the data grids that can be configured to suit the user needs:

  • Fields can be shown and hidden at will: click the left mouse button on the small button to the left of the data grid header and a popup window will show all the available fields for the grid. Check the fields you want to show in the data grid
  • Fields position can be changed at will: drag your mouse over the name of the field in the data grid header and drop it into the desired position
  • Data can be sorted in ascending or descending order by any field or combination of fields: click the left mouse button on the name of a field to sort the data in ascending order by that field. Click again on the same field name to sort the data in descending order. Hold down the "Shift" key while clicking on a field name to sort the data on multiple fields simultaneously
  • Data can be grouped by any field or combination of fields: click the right mouse button on the name of the field you want to use to group the data and select "Column" - "Group by this column". You can group data by as many fields as you want by repeating this procedure
  • Data grid appearance can be changed in many different ways: click the right mouse button on the grid header and a popup menu will show "Table elements" and "Table visual appearance". These menus show a number of items that will allow you to change the appearance of the data grid to fit your needs

Once you have configured the data grid to your liking, click the left mouse button on the Print button MSD Organizer Report or press Ctrl-P on the keyboard and the program will show a report with the current appearance of the data grid.

A very important feature of MSD Organizer data grids is the ability to save and restore as many grid configurations as desired.

  • To save current data grid configuration, click the right mouse button on the grid header and select "Save current table configuration". Then a dialog will be shown allowing you to give this configuration a name, so that you can restore it later
  • To restore a previously saved data grid configuration, click the right mouse button on the grid header and select "Restore a saved table configuration". Then a dialog will be shown allowing you to select the grid configuration you want to restore
  • You can also restore the initial configuration of the data grid. To do this, click the right mouse button on the data grid header and select "Restore the table default configuration"

This technology puts in your hands the ability to generate an unlimited number of different reports, for personal and professional use, with just a few mouse clicks. In this case, imagination is the limit.
